Hall History

One of the original three residence halls build at Ave Maria. One of the three men’s residence halls. Goretti Hall houses 144 men. Established in honor of St. Maria Goretti, originally a women’s hall it has in recent years housed the Gentlemen of Goretti Hall. The Gentlemen of Goretti have honored their patroness and sought to model her example of purity in heart and mind. Tom Monaghan, Ave Maria Founder, is himself a notable past resident who would stay in Goretti when visiting Ave Maria. Goretti also formerly housed the Art Studio, Yearbook, and Gyrene Gazette.

Goretti Insignia & Motto

The Goretti Hall insignia is a combination of a decorative "G" for St. Maria Goretti and a gold cross. The motto at the bottom Dei Gratia, Fortitudo Hominum is translated as "The Grace of God, the Strength of Men."
